Rivolta created the second golf course and restored the 40,000-square-foot clubhouse, which had fallen into neglect. He held festivals, concerts and other social events to attract buyers and make The Oaks part of Sarasota's social scene. By the time he sold his interest in the community in 2000, the club was back on firm financial footing and The Oaks had become one of the most prestigious golf and country club communities in Florida."

Tivoli Homes, a locally-based custom homebuilder, has opened an exclusive waterfront peninsula community in Nokomis, in south Sarasota County.
The private peninsula, at 900 E. Colonia Lane, will feature 12 homes that come with private dock options and direct boating access to the Gulf of Mexico, according to a release. Pricing for the homes starts at $459,900. The project, the release adds, is named the Cottages of Curry Creek. READ MORE
